The weekend of July 4th was always a special time for both Taylor + Jacob families. The two were camping on his parent’s island on Norway Lake by New London over the weekend, and mysteriously, members of Taylor’s family started showing up. Still not realizing the magnitude of what was part of a big plan, Taylor just thought the two families were going to enjoy the holiday together. “That evening, there was a DJ out on the island playing music. Jake took the microphone from the DJ and started thanking all of the family for coming and then started thanking my parents…and I still didn’t catch on. Then suddenly, someone told me to be quiet and I looked at Jake and he said, “For the last part of the evening, there’s one question I’ve been wanting to ask and it’s a big one!” and then he started walking towards me. I fell to my knees in happy tears while he asked me to marry him. His dad shot off fireworks as I said yes. We cried lots of happy tears, celebrated with champagne, music, and danced the night away.”
Finding the perfect wedding site was no problem for Taylor and Jacob. The two chose the beautifully serene location where Jacob proposed, the island on Norway Lake. July 29th was seemingly the ideal day for Taylor and Jacob’s wedding with sun filled skies, birds singing, and perfectly comfortable temperatures for a summer Minnesota day. The two shared their endearing first looks in a gorgeous wildflower garden. Taylor’s boho inspired gown flowed flawlessly down her gorgeous bridal silhouette. She held a magnificent bridal arrangement of eucalyptus, greenery, with deep red and burgundy mixed flowers. A floral headpiece contrasted her rich dark hair that was finished with loose romantic curls. Jacob’s burgundy tux off set the gorgeous colors within Taylor’s floral bouquet and headpiece. He wore a green bow tie with a white dress shirt and green vest to finish off his groom’s style. The two walked to the farm where Jacob had arranged a surprise for his bride to be with two delicate fawns to be present for their pictures. Taylor was so thrilled because of her love of deer. The photographer captured truly magical moments as the two naturally embraced the fawns. The gesture that Jacob displayed made Taylor quite emotional, and although she was extremely happy, tears were running down her face.
During the ceremony, which was perfectly placed within the woods of the island, Taylor and Jacob’s dreams came true. Taylor walked down to the aisle to I Will Wait for You by Mumford and Sons, signifying their life tied up into one sweet melody. As she walked towards Jacob with her father by her side, an abundance of family and friends adoringly witnessed the ceremony as Taylor was lovingly given away to Jacob with sentiment and unforgettable vows. “Saying our vows amongst our family and friends, the birds, and the sun was truly so magical, I will never forget it!” As the two blissfully walked down the grass aisle together as husband and wife, guests happily threw flower petals with enthusiastic shouts of “Yay!”.
All Taylor and Jacob wanted for their evening was for their guests to enjoy themselves, to take in the evening with not a care in the world, and to be able to celebrate their love. Taylor and Jacob’s woodsy bohemian wedding theme was carried into their reception displaying the beauties of nature with different colored flowers and greeneries. The couple’s wedding menu featured a Chicken Parmesan entrée, a salsa bar, and delectable small bars for dessert made special by Jacob’s mother. The two sweetly swayed to the song Ho Hey by the Lumineers for their first dance as a married couple, while guests held sparklers illuminating the special moment. Everyone who remained celebrating at the end of the night all went swimming in the lake, which remains one of their favorite memories of their truly romantic wedding celebration. If Taylor could offer future brides some advice, this is what she would tell them, “This day is so special because it’s your love story. The day is ultimately about you and the love of your life celebrating your life together. Take in all the sweet moments together and remember this is your love story, celebrate however you want to!”
