Surrounded by the lush, vibrant greenery of trees and serenaded by the gentle trickle of the stream beneath the bridge, the handsome Donald Howard Anderson III patiently waited for his beautiful bride, Briana Elaine Herbst, to arrive for their first look on their wedding day. “I knew she would look beautiful, but when I finally turned around and saw her for the first time I knew I was marrying the woman of my dreams.” As the gentle breeze surrounded them and they looked lovingly into one another’s eyes, they could not believe the day they had been planning for had finally arrived.
On August 29, 2015, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, Minnesota filled with the joyful smiles of Briana and Donnie’s family and friends. It was a gorgeous summer day as the most important people in their lives came together to share in the celebration of their love. As she walked down the aisle with her father, Briana eagerly and lovingly made her way toward the love of her life, the man of her dreams and her best friend. Wearing a stunning A-line gown, accented with a delicate and classy lace overlay bodice, the smile on Briana’s face lit up the room as she stood across from Donnie whole-heartedly reciting her vows. There was a sparkle of love that shone bright from his eyes as Donnie tenderly promised to dedicate his love and life to the woman of his dreams for the rest of their lives. Donnie looked absolutely handsome wearing his trendy beige tuxedo and a smile that was beaming with love and happiness. Standing beside the gorgeous couple, Briana and Donnie’s closest friends and family made up the wedding party. Happiness filled the church when the moment finally arrived and Briana and Donnie were proudly pronounced as husband and wife. Love surrounded the newlyweds as their closest family and friends cheered and celebrated when Donnie kissed his new wife for the very first time.
The Grands at Mulligans provided a breathtaking view as Briana and Donnie’s family and friends arrived to the reception. Beautifully accented with colors of coral, cream, pale pink and pale blue while stunning glass vases and mason jars filled with fresh hydrangeas, baby’s breath and pink carnations created an atmosphere of eclectic, rustic romance. Ivory lace and delicate strings of pearls laid upon the tables, while the glow of candlelight and the twinkle of swooping white lights from above created a soft romantic ambiance. Offering itself as a picturesque backdrop, the enchanting stone fireplace stood tall behind the head table. As the celebration continued, the adorable bride and groom and their guests enjoyed conversation and laughter over a delicious dinner of savory boursin chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, and green beans. Delightfully displayed upon rustic wooden tiers, a variety of cupcakes were offered as a dessert. The couple’s love and dedication to family was evident all through the night. Briana and Donnie will always remember the heartfelt and meaningful speeches shared by both of their fathers, along with the special moment when Donnie’s grandparents blew away the competition during the generations dance with their 62 years of marriage. The newlyweds and their guests danced the evening away to music that was personally chosen by every person in attendance.
Briana is the daughter of Nancy and Dale Herbst of Foley, Minnesota and is employed as a Registered Nurse. Donnie is the son of Paula and Don Anderson of Prentice, Wisconsin. He is employed as a Behavior Support Specialist and also a student pursuing his degree in elementary education. The newlyweds currently reside in Foley and plan to celebrate their marriage during a romantic honeymoon in Spring 2016.
