Saturday, June 1st, 2019, turned out to be a perfect day, sunny and in the 70’s. With the fear of rain lifted, the day began with Matt and his groomsmen playing a round of golf as the ladies prepared themselves for the day. Sam dressed in her wedding gown, a Stella York dress with a graphic lace high neckline highlighting her collarbones. The straps crisscrossed in the back creating a beautiful silhouette and lace train. She completed the look with a fingertip veil and a bouquet of white flowers with just a touch of powder blue for a pop of color.
The bridesmaids wore variations of power blue and white lace gowns carrying a smaller version of white floral with the same blue accents as the bride. The men wore blue suits, white shirts, and powder blue ties. The altar was decorated with barrels of white baby’s breath, white floral, and greenery.
The couple chose not to participate in a first look, so the first time they saw each other was when Sam was walking down the aisle. “I didn’t feel nervous until about five minutes before walking down the aisle. As I walked with my mom and turned the corner, I got to see Matt and all my nerves went away.” During the ceremony, Sam and Matt presented white roses to the loved ones of someone who had passed. One was given to Sam’s grandma in honor of her husband and Sam’s
grandpa. Another rose was given to Matt’s friend’s mom in honor of his best friend. The parents of the couple also received white roses during that special moment in the ceremony. When the officiant pronounced Sam and Matt Mr. and Mrs. Lusti, Matt literally swept Sam off her bare feet and carried her off into their forever.
After the ceremony, Sam and Matt took their pictures, which turned out to be the most memorable part of the day for Sam. “That is the only time we got to spend mostly one-on-one time with each other, and it was so fun.” Nearly 220 guests attended the ceremony and reception, also held at The Grands at Mulligan’s. The venue looked stunning with mostly white décor. The guests dined and danced late into the evening creating a celebration Sam and Matt will never forget. Following their wedding festivities, Sam and Matt road tripped to California with many stops along the way. One unexpected adventure on their honeymoon trip occurred when the couple found out they were pregnant! Upon their return, the couple resides in Annandale, MN, with Sam working as an office clerk and Matt as a heavy equipment operator.
Samantha Lusti is the daughter of Mike & Jacquelyn Hansen of Buffalo, MN. Matthew Lusti is the son of Dale & Patti Lusti of Monticello, MN.
